Elderberry-Currant Mocktail Recipe

This delightful mocktail combines the rich, fruity flavors of our Elderberry-Currant tea with the vibrant tastes of currants, hibiscus, rose hips, cranberries, elderberries, and rooibos. Perfect for any occasion, this refreshing drink is not only delicious but also packed with health-boosting ingredients. 

Ingredients 

For the Elderberry-Currant Tea Base: 

  • 2 tablespoons Elderberry-Currant tea blend (containing currants, hibiscus, rose hips, cranberries, elderberries, and rooibos) 
  • 4 cups water 

For the Mocktail: 

  • 1 cup brewed and cooled Elderberry-Currant tea 
  • 1/2 cup cranberry juice 
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice 
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste) 
  • Ice cubes 
  • Sparkling water or club soda 
  • Fresh currants, cranberries, or lemon slices for garnish 
  • Mint leaves for garnish 

Instructions 

  1. Brew the Tea Base: 
  • Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. 
  • Add 2 tablespoons of the Elderberry-Currant tea blend to a teapot or heatproof container. 
  • Pour the boiling water over the tea blend and let it steep for 10 minutes. 
  • Strain the tea and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate it until chilled. 
  1. Prepare the Mocktail: 
  • In a large pitcher, combine 1 cup of the brewed and chilled Elderberry-Currant tea, 1/2 cup of cranberry juice, 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 1/4 cup of simple syrup. Stir well to mix. 
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more simple syrup if desired. 
  1. Serve: 
  • Fill glasses with ice cubes. 
  • Pour the tea mixture over the ice until the glass is about three-quarters full. 
  • Top off with sparkling water or club soda for a fizzy finish. 
  • Garnish with fresh currants, cranberries, lemon slices, and mint leaves. 
  1. Enjoy: 
  • Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing and flavorful Elderberry-Currant mocktail! 

Tips 

  • For an extra touch of elegance, rim the glasses with sugar. Simply rub a lemon wedge around the rim and dip it into sugar before pouring in the mocktail. 
  • You can also freeze fresh cranberries and currants to use as ice cubes, adding a decorative and cooling element to your drink.
